The Company starts its activities
in the year 1942 with the
manufacture of devices and
pieces related to small
mechanics, which soon
turns into the production
of mechanical counters. The acronym EMIT is formed by the initials of the first name of the Company ("Especialidades Mecánicas de la Industria Textil" i.e. "Mechanics Specialities for the Textile Industry"), becoming Talleres Emit, S.A. in 1960. |

In the year 1979, the Company's Management
changes and a period of diversification
and enlargement of its activities
begins, with regard both to the
manufacturing (electromechanical
counters) and the commercialization
(electronic counters). The electromechanical counters are intended specially for the sectors manufacturing coin-operated machines (entertaining machines, vending machines, etc.). The manufacture of this type of counters is at present the Company's most significant activity with about 400,000 pieces yearly, 30% of which are destinated for export, mainly for the major manufacturers of entertainment machines in EUA, Europe, South Africa and Australia. |

Commercialization of electronic counters |
With regard to electronic counters, Talleres Emit, S.A. is operating since 1989 as sole representative for the Spanish market of trade marks which are as prestigious as Line Seiki, Hobba or Compact Instruments, with high-quality products. Its specialization in counters (mechanical, electromechanical and electronic counters) makes Talleres Emit, S.A. the only company in Spain that is exclusively devoted to a such activity, mainly as a manufacturer. |

Talleres Emit, S.A. has a highly specialized
staff with 25 employees as well as about
1000 sq m of facilities in its factory at
Gelida (Barcelona), to wich the Company
moved in 1997. Its products are approved by TÜV Rheinland, and every new model is designed jointly with a High-Technology Centre (ASCAM) and in cooperation with official laboratories which depend on the different Technical Schools of the University of Catalonia. |

All this results in the supply of high-quality and
high-tecnology products, like our last innovation: the MINICOUNTER, a low power consumption and shock-resistant counter, specially designed for mounting on PCB or panel board as a further component. |
